The wager is set

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The stage is set. Lady M has put her foot down, herein in Beethoven Stadt Bonn. The Tap has taken the stance of the Comical Wenger and declared "I think I will be able to remain unbeaten this season." Lady M is unfazed. As such, the Random XS stands witness to this challenge, the result of which, shall be announced in a couple of week's time. It's 21 km vs. 400 km. Does it make any sense? Only time will tell.

Quotable quotes

The WalawalaMuciwawa Hall of Fame:

"Stay alive! Stay alive! Run forest run!" The Jackrabbit whining during HALO2
"Aw...I didn't get a chance to die." The Tap, after XIII
"I'm GONNA KILL U!" The Greasemonkey, after hearing The Jackrabbit whine.

Amongst many other quotes. There will be more to come, as they come along.
This is post Ligretto, where the motley crew here is semi shell shocked...watching a most exciting morning TV to the sounds of "Be the first to know...". Right....

Ligretto

The stage is set. The cards are laid out, GO! The Tap and the Jackrabbit scramble to spit out their cards. Ladies M and D shuffle to do likewise. The Greasmonkey tries hard...but ends up in the negative score regime...he'd fare a little better after some salt and vinegar crisps. M stays on, whilst D heads for Hamburg. It has been a fab start to a week. You know you have a winner in your hands not when the a player shouts "Ligretto!", rather an "Eh! Must buy this bring back S'pore". Therein lies the its magnetic appeal. My bed is a stronger magnet now...

The Jackrabbit, cleaning his nose for the next jump.

Wurstland

Back in Wurstland...and regarding dodgey lagers and quaint pubs, well, we hadn't such luck. The Jackrabbit hijacked the phone when he came back...as did The Tap. The Random XS had to deal with his dumb 512 MB CF card that decided to go all wonky at the critical moment...losing an entire cacheload of some of the Tower of London's finest. FORMAT the pathetic card ...FORMAT IT! I need some sleep...it's 2 am in the morning now...and I am not making any sense.

London Blues, Easter 2005

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The weather lived up to it's name. But so did Hillsong Church London. A great way to round up the Easter weekend trip. The Jackrabbit and The Tap were utterly knackered...but we'll see if a visit to the local public houses and a couple of pints of dodgey lager would change things...

MRT, SBS, TIBS and more...

Ever had one of those days...you sit in the MRT....then doze off into Lala Land...you dream...and picture yourself doing a balancing act along a drain edge...then you slip...then JERK! You awake...thoroughly embarassed, your eyes dart around the environment hoping that no one noticed...then you doze off again...this time hoping you don't grease the window pane next to you...or bonk your head against the alighting bell pole when the bus drivers with a deathwish takes over the wheel.

Ah....remember the days when the SBS buses had those patterned aluminium floorboards, red cushions with their filling spewing out at the seams...polished railings...and a HUGE engine cowling just beside the bus driver's seat (and oh...that gear shift padded with raffia string and an old towel)...oh the sheer horsepower under the cab (TIBS buses in comparison seemed to have had LEXUS muffling technology)! Then sound of the coins crashing to the bottom of the collection bin....Gahchiiingk, just shortly after the driver stops the bus as if it had been done with a brake chute. And way before the war of the colors between the major telecommunications giants, was the war between the red and white vs. the yellow and orange...

Level 42?

Well not quite, but they did derive their name from somewhere along these lines:

Introducing The Tap.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
A quintessential being, best described by clicking the above link.

Welcome to Tuesday

"Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday." from Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen), produced by Baz Luhrmann, lyrics by Mary Schmich (Chicago Tribune). Performed by Lee Perry.

There's truth in that isn't there? Welcome to Tuesday.

Meet The Jack Rabbit

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
As nature would have it, this is The Jackrabbit. Both feet firmly on the ground, we thought it'd be amusing watching him do his jumping antics on this piece of cardboard. He didn't, as we expected. And the gaming world rejoiced, just for that one short moment. In the next
episode well see who The Tap is.
On the side note, isn't it plain exasperating, that just when you thought you've backed up all the stuff that you thought you'd ever needed to backup, Mr. Murphy decides to check in and voila! THAT file that you really needed isn't to be found. Funny the sheer amount of consternation something as small as a 2.5" assembly of metal plates can cause ... the wonders of technology.

Burnin' Spring

Spring kicks in ... lowlands are a scorching 22°C, but I reckon we'd still have some snow where The Jackrabbit got anchored to the ground. He can't wait to have his pictures posted ... this old sack here just ain't cutting it to get the pics online . Boarding action resumes tomorrow. Let's see how it goes...

Boarding party

So the weekend was a boarding party. We slammed into a blizzard. They closed the lifts cos' the windspeeds were 100 km/h... It was The Jackrabbit's birthday...so we bought him a Blackforest cake and got him a ticket to the mountains to do all the jumping around he wanted. With two feet firmly planted on the ground...it wasn't too difficult to stall his addiction to jump. The TAP and I watched in amusement as each of us careened into oblivion somewhere 1400 m above sea level.

First Foray

A first foray into the scheme of things. Random thoughts, pics, gripes and all. It all started when a lift truck drove past...kicked up a ton of dust. The mixed smell of diesel and whatever aerosols it threw up brought back memories of tau huay, hawker center seats, traffic noise, car horns and errant drivers...
